IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) has partnered with hospitality investment and development company Range Developments for a new InterContinental Hotels & Resorts property in Douglas Bay, Dominica.
Slated to open in spring 2023, the new property, InterContinental Dominica Cabrits Resort & Spa, will be a rebrand of the existing resort.
The resort will feature 151 rooms, four outdoor pools, an expansive spa, a fitness centre and 8,500ft2 of indoor and outdoor meeting space and onsite business centre.
InterContinental Dominica Cabrits Resort & Spa will also house four on-property restaurants and beach and swim-up pool bars, while guests will have access to beach.
IHG Hotels & Resorts development lifestyle, luxury & premium brands vice-president Alex Kuhl said: “We’re pleased to collaborate with Range Developments and local government leaders to expand our presence in the Caribbean and introduce our latest IHG-branded resort property within an emerging travel hot spot.
“The alignment of the natural wonder of Dominica and the inspiring design, authentic experience and personalised service that define InterContinental Hotels & Resorts will undoubtedly make this property a must-visit destination for local and global visitors and a model for resorts throughout the region.”
InterContinental Dominica Cabrits Resort & Spa will become the brand’s third resort hotel in Caribbean.
In addition to the new InterContinental resort in Dominica, the two companies are developing two IHG-branded resorts in Grenada. They are Six Senses La Sagesse, which is expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2023 and the InterContinental Resort La Sagesse, which is opening in the first quarter of 2025.
In November last year, IHG Hotels & Resorts signed a management agreement with Dana Bay Tourism Company for a new InterContinental hotel.
