(BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – December 27, 2021) – Air Antilles has added a 28th destination to its flight schedule.
The English-speaking Caribbean has welcomed an additional option for regional travel thanks to the resumption of the Air Antilles services with the launch of its St. John’s Antigua rotation.
Speaking recently on this new development for the airline, Romain Hordel, Commercial and Marketing Director at Air Antilles confirmed to the Antigua press that the airline ‘is thrilled to be flying into the destination and looks forward to servicing Antiguans and travelers to Antigua for the long-haul.”
He also reiterated that this was all a part of the airline’s commitment to uniting the Caribbean across all cultures and language barriers.
“This is the culmination of our strategy to include what we think is one of the most crucial gateways in the northern part of the Caribbean-island chain. Therefore, this additional service out of St. John’s has been a highly anticipated move on our part to amplify our network and subsequent connectivity for travelers across the English-speaking Caribbean.”
The airline commenced its direct service to St. John’s Antigua from Bridgetown, Barbados on December 17, 2021. Flights out of St. John’s will include a twice weekly direct service to Barbados; a three-times weekly direct to Sint Maarten; twice weekly flights each to Martinique and Guadeloupe via Sint Maarten; and, twice weekly flights each to Dominica and St. Lucia via Barbados.
This winter season will also see the return of regular services on Air Antilles to Barbados, Dominica and St. Lucia, reopening connections to the non-English speaking gateway destinations of Aruba, Curaçao, Saint Martin and Sint Maarten, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Guadeloupe and Martinique.
Hordel also confirmed that the airline has also increased its fleet to 16 aircraft with the procurement of an additional Twin Otter.
Tourism and Marketing Consultant William ‘Billy’ Griffith, who is advising the company with its expansion, has also lauded the efforts of Air Antilles to fill the much-needed void in regional air service, especially in the southern Caribbean.
“This is a very important period in the rebuilding of regional airlift as we work towards a life without covid. I am pleased to be able to work with Air Antilles as they expand in the region”
